THE GOLDEN COMPASS, a new movie targeted at children, will be released
December 7, 2007. This movie is based on a the first book of a trilogy
by atheist Philip Pullman. In the final book a boy and girl kill God
so they can do as they please. Pullman left little doubt about his
intentions when he said in a 2003 interview that "My books are about
killing God."
The movie is a watered down version of the first book and is designed
to be very attractive in the hope unsuspecting parents will take their
children to see the the movie and that the children will want the
books for Christmas.
The movie has a well known cast, including Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig,
and Sam Elliott. It will probably be advertised extensively, so it is
crucial that we get the word out to warn people to avoid this movie.

..i read it...it didnt seem to be against god...i dont wanna say anythign i will regret..i dont wanna be bombarded by insults..so i aint gona say anything more on the subject

well i saw it
i guess its bad cuz everyone wants to do their own thing
and its like hey God isn\'t important do what u want
but the movie doesn\'t say that so u would really have to think about it to see it like that
and most ppl won\'t
and its just a movie anyway i mean most people don\'t chose important things such as a religion based on a movie
so i think this boycott is useless because no one though of it religiously until they heard everyone freaking out over it
OR they heard the guy say his books were about killing god
(most people didn\'t i mean NO ONE where i am heard the guy say that until everyone started talking about it)
buy he isn\'t very good at metaphors if the majesterium is supposed to b God
because God is nothing like the majesterium
so yea its sorta how u think about it
if u believe this guys metaohor than its bad
but if the majesterium stays the majesterium and not a terrible metaphor then nothing\'s wrong with it =)

I\'ve seen a short preview of the movie. It\'s pretty cheesy... Kinda like the first two Harry Potters.
