this is my best translation of the story young children in austria hear every christmas.

The First Christmas.

The story of Kris Kringle is from st Nikelaus, a true saint of virtue and patron to the poor. he would put gold down the chimney, because they wouldnt find it untill morning, as a \'surprise.\'
This story continues as he came into what is now germany and was origonaly part of the Holy Austrian empire (bigger than the roman, consisted of modern day soythern germany, czech republic, Slovikia, the rest of the poorer eastern european countries, italy, sothern france, spain, and protugal, as well as territories in kaliningrad, and trust territories in scandanavia.) so, The mayor (across the austria-germany border in germany) (Burgemister=german for mayer/the equivelant power to a US mayor) declared that all toys be burned to focus 100% on work and to virtualy end childhood, Nikelaus was raised By the kringles, a short, Sweet, average Austrian craft building family (Austria is WORLD renowned for its woodworking skills, pianno composers [and virtualy every composer you can think of is austrian})
and all he had was a necklace that beared the name Nikelaus, his birth name,
as he grew up with the kringles, he took their name, and kris, (they re-named his first name)

and could make toys faster than anyone had even been able to, so when he went into town (modern day Munich) he saw the harsh rules of the mayor, and he would bring the children toys, by night, but when the mayor saw children with toys, he would search every house, every morning, untill he hid the gifts in the stockings!!! ah eeventualy fel in love with jessica, a school teacher, (ms.clause) when they were married, and the mayor had died, thousands of cities of children still wanted toys!!! so he CHose to move to the most isolated area in the world, and to only go out on the holiest night of the year, Christmas Eve,
