...less than half of the videos in the top 20 have someone in a suit. So I have no clue there.
But mainly....I think they are looking for a video that makes people wanna dance. It makes the song, make you wanna dance, or listen to the song. Your video had an underlying message that was more about a guy who needed friends. Nobody other than the inner-him danced. They want to see people enjoying the song....seeing people \"catch Crazy Loop fever\".
You could say \"Then why didn\'t they say that in the rules?\" But in reality....they probably wanted to keep it broad to see what all people came up with. When you limit people to what they can make...you don\'t get a whole lot to choose from. But thats just my guess. It may be that...it may not be.
But there\'s nothing WRONG with your video. It has a couple editing & special effects flaws...but whose video doesn\'t?! All of these videos, mine included, are done by amateurs. We\'re all amateurs. Thats the whole purpose of the contest. So don\'t bother pondering where your video went wrong because theres nothing wrong with it. It just wasn\'t what they were looking for.
Its the same thing as Hollywood movie flops. A director makes a movie he thinks American audiences will love. People end up not liking it. Then, it becomes a big hit in Japan or some foreign country. (Which has happened many, many times.) The problem isn\'t in the product...but in who watches it & if it\'s what THEY want.

I doubt the money is \"in the bag\". I\'ve had people think that I am sitting at home, relaxed, not worried because I \"know\" I\'m gonna win. But in reality, it\'s quite the opposite. I check the website every Monday like a 10 year old at Christmas to see if I made it to the next round or not. I DAILY tell every friend I know to vote for me & for them to tell THEY\'RE friends to vote for me because I worry I wont get enough votes for the judges to keep my video in the race.
That being said...I am extremely curious as to how you got his address & find it amazing that you live close enough to visit him. (What are the odds?! lol)
To be honest...I was not expecting him to be living in some uber-sweet house or condo. He made a couple videos that became popular over the internet. I don\'t really see why people think he is a millionaire. lol
But I don\'t consider myself more of a professional than you. We are both people who love making videos & want them to be watched & awarded for the effort we put into it.
I don\'t think you lost due to stars or votes because there are videos with smaller stars & smaller number of views than yours, still in the top 20.
Its not for a lack of use of your tools or effects because you did really creative stuff with your special effects. There are videos in the top 20 that rely heavily on effects & then there videos like mine that have 0 special effects, other than my cartoon shot.
I think it\'s probably because you didn\'t LOOK like Crazy Loop. The rules state that they want to incorporate dance moves & stuff from the real video. So to me, that said that they want a amateur version of the music video. Someone in the suit...the glasses...dancing like him...& getting people, in the video, to dance to the song. So I did just that.

Oh snap! I didn\'t even notice. I cant believe yours didn\'t get chosen. I was actually really surprised at a couple of the videos that made it. I liked quite a few of the effects you had in yours. Whatever you do....don\'t think you made a bad video because it didn\'t get selected! Don\'t let it get you down.

strange... it went back up a few. i wonder if it was stupidvideos correcting rating, people happening to be voting, or just the system is moving people around. ehh i guess we all will just have to wait and see what happens

Hey man, its me again. I see your conversation with momento about this contest. Yeah, somethings definetly up. My video went from 4.5 to 3.5 in a matter of hours (dropping back like 25 spots). Also none of the ratings are coming up on the video pages either. Plus, the ratings are changing on everyones. I hope stupidvideos doesn\'t decide to pick winners now right after this massive mix-match. I guess all we can do is wait a little and see.

I\'m not gonna publicly point a finger on the extremely off-chance that I\'m wrong, cuz then it\'ll seem like I\'m trying to get my competition hated by others. But I did state who I thought it was in my e-mail to Stupidvideos. I have yet to receive an e-mail back, though.

I see that you noticed as well that someone is cheating. My video has gone down 1 1/2 stars in two days. I contacted Stupidvideos. Just so you know that someone else is getting gyped & is sick of it...

....im pretty sure its no a scam...and it seems that most likely i wont win BECAUSE MORE AND MORE PEOPLE enter their AWESOME videos even after March 4th. But i had to admit that your video is WAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY better and should win. And please don\'t be mean and vote me down.

Here is my ASSUMPTION....it took days for my videos to upload. So I assume that the videos that were uploaded on the last day took a while to process & weren\'t \"up\" until days after the final day to upload. Now the original contest rules said that the judging was going to last from Feb 4th until the beginning of March. They extended the deadline, so I assume the exact same process will happen, only it will go from March to April instead.
The rules never said that the \"Top 50\" would be revealed...I assume they just pick the top 50, then pick the top 25, etc. I don\'t think they reveal anyone that they chose until the final decisions. But once again...this is just my ASSUMPTION.
But I feel kind of stupid myself...because I told everyone I knew that I would know by TODAY at the latest if I won anything or not, because of what the rules currently say for when the winner is revealed. So i got people asking why I don\'t know who won & no answer to give them. Just my guesses.
