A comedian I enjoy regulary is a kid named Micah...my 13 old son.
Unfortunatly I don\'t have the time to follow comedy much. I grew up with Steve Martin, and other pretty tame stuff.
You all seem to be in the Monty Python vibe? A bit abstract?
Comedians who make honest, funny observations on real life, are always funny to me.

p.s. the little I\'ve seen of Seinfeld he seems to be pretty funny...it was simply my lame attempt at comedy.

You know, you\'ve got a pretty good point - I\'m thinking of things from the POV of small fries like us overtime guys, but a lot of people will do pretty much whatever idiot celebrity artists tell them to. this has been a pretty enlightening discussion, and we\'re going to think carefully in the future about when and how to portray certian topics in the future. on another topic: who are some comedians you regularly enjoy?

Let me say, I don\'t think your motive was to mock.
However, there are many artists, (which includes comedians) who do outright mock Jesus, and the faith of those who have placed their trust in Him.
I do think artists view are very relavent to our culture.
You are the poets, observers of our culture and society, and you often have an eager audience.

you know, i agree that we\'d be called biggoted & intolerant if we were to, as americans, mock other religious leaders. but the stings of bigotry and intolerance don\'t ring as true when it\'s a minority mocking a majority. i mean, if chris rock mocks whites it\'s funny, if jerry seinfeld were to mock blacks it\'s be biggotry. why is that? well, if for no other reason than whites are the majority in the country, politically and economically. so it\'s funny to see them taken down a peg.

i wouldn\'t be so bold as to pass judgment as to whether making light of christ & christianity is offensive or correct - that\'s everyone’s own individual call and I respect it. i\'m only responding to your wondering why \"Jesus is fair game.\" he\'s fair game because when you put him in a comedy sketch, you\'re throwing stones at the biggest house on the block. it\'d be like the difference between making fun of the president and making fun of a state senator - when you pick on the president it\'s funny because you know he\'s so rich and powerful the joke won\'t really hurt his feelings, but to pick on just some random state senator makes you bully. if you were to mock mohammed, for example, you\'d just look like a bully - but christianity\'s such a defining force in our culture that any comedian\'s thoughts are essentially irrelevant.
