He was even overtaking the policemen. As i said already, fearless. The very person to be with in times of riots. He asked if we fancied taking the boat into town to see what was happening for ourselves. We were game, so off we went. Maputo, and i must tell you that the city is one beautiful city, especially from the sea. We were hungry, so went to get some food at the only restaurant that was open. Maputo, no boat back, and roads closed and too risky to use. Jenito, and somehow managed to convince a taxi driver to drop us back. We all said a prayer first because we were really chancing it. Off we went, with the man driving like his life depended on it. Which actually it did. Luckily for us, the roads were clear. No traffic, no rioters, only loads of policemen. So we managed to get home in one piece. Jenito suggested we go out and shoot some pool, but when we got to the place he had in mind, it was closed. Club and everywhere else. Clearly everyone was too scared to venture out. Mozambican music blaring. Their music is really cool, so we hang out for a while in the car just enjoying the atmosphere. It was love at first sight too, he said, since the moment he clapped his eyes on me at the border.
