It was a big moment for us. And sure enough, later we give the paper to our shipping agent and it is accepted as right. Ismail was very proud of himself. We thanked him profusely, from our hearts. He was absolutely right. We discuss the world. But then he laughs. We laugh too, uneasily. And it kind of spoils it for us. Last weekend, while it was summer here at home, i went to the coast for four days where it was cold, cloudy and drizzly and attended a retreat and workshop for writers. Hotel where each of the rooms has a different author theme. They leave the doors to the rooms open if they are vacant and invite you to have a look around. Hotel has a following. It is a cozy and unique place. There is even a fireplace at one end of the room. In the evenings after dinner is finished in the dining room in the daylight basement, they bring up two big carafes of hot spiced wine which was just perfect on a chilly night. Talking is not allowed in the library, neither are cell phones. In fact, there are no televisions or telephones in the guest rooms, and the hotel has no wifi, which seems unheard of in this day and age, but the hotel does cater to writers and readers, and the idea is that there are no distractions. The workshop was very simple, but very valuable. There were four other attendees beside myself, and the instructor, all of us women. Soul, one of them is a humorist that tends to write about pet themes and has a column written from the perspective of her dog that is published in a local magazine.
