THis applies to Quicktime videos as well, and no, you do not need to upgrade to retarded QTPro. Using this method you can download Quicktime, and flashes off any website including SV. SV blocks you from downloading QTs and WMVs but the flashes are up for grabs. Here's how:
1. If you don't already have FireFox, get it. Go to www.getfirefox.com
2. Go ahead and open up the site that the flash is on. It can be a game or an animation or a banner ad or whatever.
3. Click "Tools" on FireFox at the top. Click "Page Info". Select the "Media" tab and scroll down looking for your the file you want.
4. Now you will see every media on the page. Every one is downloadable. While you're at it you can get some picture or whatever. Now you will look for your file. It will be an embed. There's no true way to find the file, but you should be able to tell. Generally it has a short address, and the title of the video should be in the addreess. It also says what kind the file is, so if you are looking for a QT video, make sure it says the file is a QuickTime video. The size should clue you in too. QTs are big (usually 10 MB or more), WMVs are medium and Flashes are small (usually 1 MB or less).
5. Once you've found your file, click download.
6. Now you've got your flash. It is useless 'cause you probably don't an OFFLINE flash player (Macromedia is not offline). If you need one, go to: http://www.download.com/3001-2139_4-10511935.html
It is freeware so don't worry about loosing it after 30 days.
7. I won't degrade you by putting in the useless step of "enjoy".
Okay, well, I'd thought I'd share that with the SV community since I found it to be pretty sweet. Enjoy (suckers)
