In this age when innumerable communication backbones are available, you must have realized that physical distances no longer matter. You must have taken the opportunity of the new environment and spread your wings far and wide.
So, now you are dealing with clients whom you may never come face to face. What is more urgent is that you have to follow up your own people who are pursuing those clients and may be logging up huge amounts of air or road travel. You need to know about their progress and must always be around to provide support and guidance, whenever necessary.
You are immensely helped in your effort to keep track of your own people through mobile telephony and must be footing sizable phone bills. Obviously you must be hoping and praying to lay your hands on some scheme which may reduce the bill and at the same time keep up the corporate
business long distance phone service as free flowing as possible.
This is a problem faced by every corporate house irrespective of the size and line of business. So, even if are still expanding donÂ’t think that that the time has not yet come for you to concentrate on this problem!
The first thing which you should be very clear about is that there is a lot of difference between the various service providers who are thronging the market. There is a huge difference between the various schemes and billing rates they offer. Generally, the schemes and the rate charts are couched in such soothing and reassuring jargon that you tend to overlook the fine print!
Be very careful and donÂ’t get trapped in these cleverly laid potholes! Read the fine print thoroughly. Preferably, ask the sales person to provide the total bill amount (I repeat, the TOTAL bill amount) which you will have to foot at the end of the billing cycle under different projected usage scenarios and, if possible, get it attested by him.
This will force him to come out with the actual charges which his company will levy on you.
There is razor sharp competition among the various providers. They are dying to pocket your dollars. So, be very firm and donÂ’t let the sales people bully you into accepting any odd scheme. Repeat this with all the service providers you are interested in, and then settle down comfortably in your chair to make a cool unbiased comparison. Choose the one whom you think would best serve you purpose.
If you have digital services available, T1 can also be an attractive option. But if you are yet to reach the business volumes which make such service a viable and economic option, contact your telephone service provider and discuss threadbare all the add on schemes which he has on offer. Take your time, compare the competing offers and shop intelligently.
